ROKAnol® DB9 is a non-ionic surfactant (ethoxylated fatty alcohols, INCI name: C12-15 Pareth-9). The product belongs to the ROKAnol® DB series which is based on a C12-C15 fatty alcohol. A distinct surface activity allows these products to be used as excellent detergents and cleaning agents, and opens up the possibility of their use in other industries.
The commercial form of ROKAnol® DB9 at room temperature is a turbid liquid or a paste with a tendency to delaminate. The active substance content is about 100%. At 40°C, it is a light-coloured liquid (100 max., Pt/Co scale), while at about 26°C, it gets solidified. The product’s hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) is around 13, which makes the product dissolve well in water.
ROKAnol® DB9 stands out by its good wetting properties and very good foam formation. It shows stability both in an oxidizing and reducing environment, as well as in the presence of hard water. The product is characterized by its activity in cold water, acidic and neutral baths, as well as diluted alkaline solutions. It has very good degreasing and detergent properties, which enables a high level of dirt removal.
What is more, ROKAnol® DB9 has very good dispersing properties, and is an effective emulsifier. The product can be used in machining coolant formulations, especially in semi-synthetic and synthetic fluids. In addition, it is used in specialist cleaning agents for industrial and institutional use. These include preparations for machine cleaning of hard surfaces in production plants and supermarkets, as well as alkaline agents for degreasing metal surfaces.
Due to the lack of ionic forms in the chemical structure of the product, it can be used in combination with other non-ionic surfactants and in formulations with anionic and cationic surfactants and other auxiliary agents.
ROKAnol® DB9 is a biodegradable product. The product complies with the biodegradability criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
