Sodium hypochlorite GREENLINETM, also called sodium chlorate or sodium hypochlorous acid, belongs to inorganic chemical compounds obtained by saturation with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. In the free state, this compound is very unstable. It is usually used as an aqueous solution. Energy used in the production process of GREENLINETM Sodium hypochlorite is covered by guarantees of origin of energy from renewable energy sources. These guarantees are issued only for energy produced from renewable sources, contributing to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Sodium hypochlorite is a slightly yellow, straw-coloured substance. It has a sharp chlorine odour and strong corrosive properties. The product is delivered to the market only in a liquid form. It has bactericidal and antiseptic properties. It also has oxidizing and corrosive properties. The main advantage of GREENLINETM Sodium hypochlorite produced on the PCC Group installations, is high chlorine content, guaranteed at a minimum level of 150 g / l. Due to the short shelf life, the product usually goes to local customers. GREENLINETM Sodium hypochlorite should be stored in tanks and containers made of plastic, rubber-coated steel or other materials with high corrosion resistance. The product should be protected from direct exposure to light and kept away from heat sources.
Sodium hypochlorite has many different applications. It is used, among others for the production of household chemicals as an antibacterial agent and disinfectant, fabric bleach, as well as a preparation for the chemical dissolution of sanitary and technical sludge. In industry, the product is used, among others, for bleaching wood pulp and textiles, cleaning and disinfecting drinking water before it enters the distribution of the municipal water supply network, disinfecting water in swimming pools and ponds, cleaning domestic and industrial waste, removing organic and inorganic impurities. Sodium hypochlorite is also widely used for disinfecting systems, pipelines and tanks in the dairy industry, in the production of wine and brewing beer. It is used in medicine for external and local use, as an antiviral, antifungal and bactericidal agent in the treatment of skin, mucous membranes and wounds. It can be used to sterilize some medical devices, and in dentistry as an antiseptic.
In industrial organic synthesis, sodium hypochlorite is used for the production of various compounds (hydrazine, anthranilic acid, chloropicrin) and for degassing in the process of hydrometallurgical production of toxic liquid and gaseous waste. In turn, in analytics it is used as a reagent for photometric studies. Hypochlorite is also used for the production of modified food starch in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Thanks to guarantees of origin of renewable energy and environmentally friendly production technology, GREENLINETM Sodium hypochlorite is used by customers who have implemented and realize a carbon footprint reduction strategy throughout the entire supply chain. Manufacturers belonging to this group operate in many different industries. That is why GREENLINETM Sodium hypochlorite meets both the most stringent quality requirements and those regarding the implementation of sustainable development goals.
