ROKAmin SR15 is a non-ionic surfactant; INCI name: PEG-15 Hydrogenated Tallow Amine. It belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty amines with an average degree of ethoxylation of 15 moles. The product co-creates a group of surfactants based on tallow amine with a characteristic amine odour.
It has the form of a brown viscous liquid or semi-liquid paste. ROKAmin SR15 is well soluble in water, as well as in alcohol solvents and acetone. The commercial product contains about 100% of the active substance and solidifies at a temperature of about -3°C.
Due to the presence of a double oxyethylene chain at the nitrogen atom, the product exhibits the activity of both a non-ionic and a cationic surfactant, especially in acidic systems. Thanks to its cationic character, the ROKAmin SR15 molecule can form a single layer (film) on the metal surface. This gives the product anti-corrosive properties, especially in relation to ferrous metals. This feature makes ROKAmin SR15 readily used as an anti-corrosive agent in the oil and mining industries.
ROKAmin SR15 is used as an emulsifier and levelling agent in fibre dyeing. Good emulsifying properties make it suitable for use in agrochemical formulations, such as EW, EC, SL, ME, WP, WG. The product can be used alone or in combination with other surfactants.
The product’s water-dilutability, good emulsifying properties and anti-corrosive properties make ROKAmin SR15 readily chosen by formulators in the lubricants sector, mainly manufacturers of cooling and lubricating fluids.
ROKAmin SR15 has very good detergency properties, which allows effective removal of long-term soiling. The product works well in acid and alkaline formulations, it is also resistant to hard water. For these reasons, it can be used in the industrial and institutional cleaning as a component of hard surface cleaners, industrial degreasers as well as cleaning agents for metal parts.
