ROKAnol® L30A is a non-ionic surfactant mainly used as an emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization process. The product is in the form of white wax with a solidification point of approximately 45°C. During the synthesis stage, ROKAnol® L30A emulsifies the monomer and stabilizes the particles of the resulting polymer, preventing coagulation of the resulting dispersion.
High efficiency of the agent is obtained by combining it with an appropriate anionic surfactant, i.e. ROSULfan L15 or SULFOROKAnol L225/1. The combination with anionic agents ensures perfect control over the size of dispersion particles.
After the polymerization reaction, ROKAnol® L30A shows excellent dispersion stabilizing properties. High content of ethylene oxide (30 mole EO) in the product provides significant resistance to electrolytes and improves dispersion resistance to repeated freezing and thawing.
ROKAnol® L30A is used in the production of most polymer-acrylic, styrene-acrylic, vinyl acetate homo- and copolymers (including VAE dispersions). The recommended concentration of the product is 0.5%-3% by weight for the entire formulation.
