ROKAfenol N6P4 belongs to the group of non-ionic surfactants. It is an nonylphenyl ether copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. The commercial product is in the form of an oily liquid.
ROKAfenol N6P4 has good solubility in water, however only at temperatures below 17°C as it becomes turbid when heated up. The reason for this is the cloud point of 17-20°C. The cloud point of the product for butyldiglycol/water solution is in the range of 36-42°C . The freezing point is around 0°C and the active ingredient content is about 100%.
ROKAfenol N6P4 is a component of washing agents, cleaning agents and laundry detergents as well as an emulsifier and dispersing agent. It is characterized by low foaming capacity. In some formulations it is used as an defoamer.
The product exhibits emulsifiability in aqueous and non-aqueous systems containing other surfactants, mineral oils, vegetable oils and organic solvents. It is a surface-active compound that retains its washing capacity in cold and hard water. ROKAfenol N6P4 can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliaries and together with anionic and cationic agents.
Regulations of the European Union – Regulation of European Parliament and Council (EC) No. 648/2004 of March 31, 2004 on detergents – restrict the use of the product to industrial cleaning, textiles and leather processing and metal working with closed loop system, where the working fluid is recycled or burnt.
