ROKAmer 2950 belongs to the group of nonionic block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (ROKAmers). ROKAmer 2950 is one of the products with low-foaming and anti-foaming properties, which is their main feature. It is dedicated for professional detergents for institutional and industrial cleaning as well as for some industrial processes.
The product is a liquid or a light yellow paste. Its solidification point is below 15°C, and the active substance content is about 100%. The diluted aqueous solutions of the product become cloudy in the temperature range 54-60°C.
The product is a high molecular polymer with a specific, bifunctional structure, which means it has two hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the ROKAmers group from other nonionic surfactants and determines their properties. ROKAmer 2950 is a product with high hydrophilicity and good degreasing and wetting properties of hard surfaces. This makes it used, among others, as a component of professional dishwashing chemicals, formulations for industrial bottle washing and metal degreasing preparations.
ROKAmer 2950 is used in Clean in Place systems, e.g., as a component of cleaning formulations in breweries. Thanks to the anti-foaming properties already achieved at low temperature, it causes a lowering of the foaming of washing baths, also in the presence of proteins or starch. ROKAmer 2950 is a product resistant to hard water, dedicated to neutral or slightly alkaline formulations. These features make the product used on a large scale in industrial and institutional washing. Its anti-foaming properties are used in the paper and food industry, as well as in all production processes where there is a problem of foaming technological waters or sewage. Thanks to its properties, the product lowers the surface tension between the liquid and the air, and at the same time improves the "drainage" of the foam, resulting in its reduction.
ROKAmer 2950 does not contain silicone, is not classified as a dangerous substance, it is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation. It complies with the regulations permitting the product for indirect contact with food. The product has a Kosher certificate. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows the use of this product and its derivatives as an antifoamer under the conditions described in the following FDA sections:
It should be remembered that the product can be used in accordance with the definitions provided by the organisation, not exceeding the maximum permitted dose.
