ROKAfenol N5 is a non-ionic surfactant from the group of ethoxylated nonylphenols (INCI name: Nonoxynol-5). It is an oily liquid with a colour of up to 70 HU. The commercial form of ROKAfenol N5 contains about 100% active substance.
The product solidifies at temperatures below 0°C. The product is sparingly soluble in water, forming an emulsion. The cloud point of this product for butyldiglycol/water solution is in the temperature range of 48-52°C.
ROKAfenol N5, due to being a low foaming agent, has a stabilizing effect on emulsion and foam. In addition, it has strong detergency and emulsifying properties as well as the ability of dispersing oils and organic solvents.
ROKAfenol N5 is resistant to elevated temperature and high electrolyte concentration. It works perfectly in difficult conditions, for example in the washing of wool and cotton. Is also a component of ingot and metal lubricants for the metal industry. The ability to prevent the precipitation of calcium salts makes ROKAfenol N5 an excellent product for textile applications, leather and pulp and paper industry. Due to the non-ionic chemical structure, the product can be mixed with other non-ionic as well as anionic and cationic surfactants.
ROKAfenol N5 is particularly suitable as a cleaning, stain removal and degreasing agent in the pulp and paper industry, mainly for the removal of ink in the processing of secondary raw materials. It is an excellent emulsifier for mineral oils, silicones, corn oil, diesel oils, glycols, butyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, isopropanol, toluene and other solvents. It is used for the production of low-foaming, W/O type cleaning and degreasing emulsions, among others with kerosene and aliphatic hydrocarbons for the metal industry.
Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of March 31, 2004 on detergents, restricts the use of ethoxylated nonylphenols for industrial cleaning, textiles and leather processing, and metal processing using closed-loop systems, where the working fluid is recycled or burnt.
