ROKAnol® LN75K is a non-ionic surfactant (INCI name: PEG-75 Lanolin), an ethoxylated derivative of lanolin, used mainly in cosmetic applications. This surfactant is available in the form of yellow to light brown wax. ROKAnol® LN75K is a derivative of lanolin, which shows good water solubility.
It is used mainly as a conditioning agent and emollient in cleansing, hair and skin care cosmetics. It creates a protective layer on the hair and skin surface, preventing excessive evaporation of water, which is an indirect moisturizing effect. Therefore, it acts as a conditioner for the skin and hair, i.e. it softens and smoothes them. The product has moisturizing properties – it facilitates contact of the washing solution with the given surface, which makes it easier to remove impurities.
In some systems, polyoxyethylene lanolin reduces the irritancy effect of anionic surfactants. In addition, it acts as a solubilizer, i.e. it enables the introduction of substances insoluble or hardly soluble in water, such as fragrances (perfumes, essential oils), plant extracts, antiseptics, fatty substances, etc. into the water solution.
ROKAnol® LN75K can be used as an emulsifier for oil-in-water (O/W) systems. It also acts as a rheology modifier, i.e. it improves consistency, increasing viscosity of washing preparations containing anionic surfactants.
