ROKAmer ED44 is a non-ionic surfactant that belongs to the group of block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, based on alkoxylated ethylenediamine. The product is a liquid with a low solidification point, i.e. about -13°C. It is characterised by a very high content of active substance (approx. 100%). It dissolves well in cold water.
It is a high polymer with a specific tetra-functional structure. This means that it has four hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the ROKAmer ED group from other non-ionic surfactants and determines their properties. ROKAmer ED44 is a product with low- and anti-foaming properties.
ROKAmer ED44 is mainly used as a specialised crude oil demulsifier that destabilises water-in-oil emulsions. It can be used as a component of dehydration and desalination preparations both in oil fields and in refineries. As a crude oil demulsifier, it has a hybrid effect: it combines the effects of a desalinating agent, an agent removing excess salinity, and an emulsion breakup promoter. The dominant feature, however, is the desalination function.
The product shows high efficiency even at low concentrations (at the level of approx. 10-1000 ppm added to the formulation). It is recommended mainly as a component of multi-ingredient demulsifying substances and for the processes of destabilising heavy crude oil emulsions with a low water content in the raw material. ROKAmer ED44 can also be used to demulsify waste fractions in the purification of process waters.
The product is not classified as hazardous according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 [CLP/GHS].
The product is not subject to ADR/RID, ADN, IMDG, ICAO/IATA.
