EKOPRODUR WH1230Z/E is a two component polyurethane system for producing a rigid (hard) foam of a closed-cell structure. The advantages of this system include very good fluidity, self-extinguishing ability and increased flammability class. Parameters of the obtained foam make the insulating material suitable for manufacturing boilers, water heaters and tanks. The system also works well in other applications, such as pouring blocks.
EKOPRODUR WH1230Z/E system consists of two components. The first of them is a polyol mixture in a form of oily liquid with a straw to yellow colour and without suspensions. The second component is a mixture of aromatic polyisocyanates in a form of viscous liquid of brown colour without suspensions. In addition, the second component is highly hygroscopic, which means that moisture causes its rapid crystallization.
The system can be processed with the use of both low- and high-pressure foaming machines. The density of the foam in the finished product should not be less than 40kg/m3 (calculated as a ratio of system weight to the total volume of the mould).
For processors and end users a key advantage of EKOPRODUR WH1230Z/E is the fact that it does not contain foaming agents which significantly deplete the ozone layer. This is in accordance with European Union rules on trading and use of controlled substances according to Regulation (EC) No. 1005/2009 of 16 September 2009. In addition, the product has a Hygienic Certificate issued by the National Institute of Hygiene (PZH), which confirms that the product used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions does not adversely affect health and the environment.
Main application advantages of the system:
production of insulating material with a low thermal conductivity coefficient (λ), using periodic method, which reduces the thickness of the insulation and as a consequence decreases the use of material;
production of insulating material based on a semi-rigid polyurethane foam with a wide range of application, e.g. for the manufacture of boilers, water heaters and tanks,
production of moulded insulation products, e.g in the form of polyurethane blocks,
production of insulating material with a uniform density distribution and advantageous temperature stability.
possibility to obtain an insulating material with a density 40-50 kg/m3, with a good stability in the temperature range from -24 to 100°C and very good insulation properties.

A method of mixing and pouring the system into the mould should provide a uniform filling, so that the density of the cut portions of the core in the finished component was not smaller than 36 kg/m3. Note that the aluminium or stainless steel claddings may require a mechanically or chemically prepared substrate to improve their adhesion. Demould time depends on the moulder size and mould temperature. Foamed system obtains its full mechanical properties after 24-hour conditioning.
