Description

Active Play AS H 8003 is a one-component polyurethane adhesive that stands out due to its high flexibility. It is a prepolymer based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), that occurs in the form of a clear liquid with an amber colour. The adhesive is a product with a rather universal application and is characterized by a middle open time. At the same time, the product has the ability to transmit water.

Active Play AS H 8003 is a product dedicated to the production of cold-formed and hot-formed elements from SBR or EPDM rubber granulates, with different granularity and total amount in the mixture. It should be borne in mind that the granules must be carefully moistened with a pre-polymer before use. The selected rubber granulate should then be thoroughly mixed with the adhesive in a suitable mixer. In the next step, the mixture should be placed in a mould so that the curing reaction takes place during pressure. As with the other versions of the Active Play adhesive, the properties of the moulded element (e.g. plates) are strongly dependent on the size of the granulate, the composition and the amount of a one-component polyurethane adhesive. In the case of a moulding process, the properties also depend on the degree of compression during curing.

One-component Active Play AS H 8003 polyurethane adhesive crosslinks with moisture from air or water, therefore, it is recommended to seal the containers after use and to use the product as soon as possible after opening the package. The quality of the application almost always depends on the right selection of the granulate, which must be fully compatible with the adhesive. The use of improper granules limits or even prevents the curing of the adhesive. It should be remembered that the granulate layer created with the adhesive is not UV-resistant, which can cause a change of the colour if granules with lighter colours are used.

Main application advantages of the product:

  • the possibility of hot and cold forming of finished elements,
  • high work efficiency achieved due to low consumption of adhesive,
  • the possibility of faster binding of rubber granulates in comparison with Active Play AS H 8001 and Active Play AS H 8004 products,
  • formation of smaller elements.

Technical properties of the product:

  • adhesive consumption: 5-17% depending on the amount of granulate and fraction
  • open time (determined using a mist of water from the atomizer): 25-40 minutes
  • density at 25°C: 1.05 – 1.10 g / ml
  • dynamic viscosity at 25°C: 2500-6500 mPa⋅s
  • content of NCO groups: 8.5-10.5% (m / m)
  • appearance at 25°C: clear, amber liquid
