Orthodichlorobenzene, also referred to as 1,2-Dichlorobenzene, is a colourless liquid that is poorly soluble in water but can mix with most organic solvents. This compound is a derivative of benzene and has two chlorine atoms at adjacent carbon atoms in the molecule.

High quality and purity of the product makes orthodichlorobenzene suitable for use as a raw material in specialised chemical syntheses and in the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, it can be applied as a heat transfer medium in the extraction distillation process and a solvent carrier for TDI production. It is an intermediate for the production of dyes, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other organic synthesis. ODCB is also used as an industrial odour control, wood preservative, as well as a component of additives for engine oil, lubricants, and paints.
