Raw chemical materials and intermediates

Raw and intermediate chemical products cover a wide variety of substances intended for different applications. They are used, for example, in the manufacture of cosmetics and detergents, as well as formulations in heavy industry (mining, metallurgy, constructions, and power generation).

Basic chemicals play an important role in the synthesis of specific compounds, including active substances contained in drugs and plant protection products. They are also used as additives in plastics, paints, lacquers and coatings. PCC Group, thanks to its modern systems, is a manufacturer of high-quality raw chemicals, which perfectly complement the offer of specialized products and ready-to-use goods.

Phenol-based range

PCC Group is a manufacturer of phenol-based products intended for subsequent processing in the chemical industry. Methods for the synthesis of these compounds are based on ion exchange resins as catalysts and are characterised by high reaction selectivity, which ensures the highest quality with subsequent reduction of negative impact on the natural environment.

Dodecylphenol, one of the offered raw chemical products, is used in the manufacture of fuels and oils, paints, lacquers, and compositions for mining industry. Nonylphenol and nonylphenol LV (with reduced viscosity) are additional items in our portfolio. These raw materials are ingredient in production of various specialised resins, epoxy and phenol resins, and industrial surfactants. These substances are also intermediates in manufacturing of antioxidants, paints, lacquers, coating resins and additives used in the tire and mining industries.

Chlorine derivative range

Thanks to one of the most high-tech membrane electrolysis installations in Europe, PCC Group is a manufacturer of high quality soda lye, caustic soda and sodium hypochlorite. Chlorine, chlorobenzene and hydrochloric acid in unique concentrations and outstanding purity are also available in our range. These are basic raw chemicals used mostly in the manufacture of various preparations in the sectors of detergents, cosmetics, household chemistry and industrial cleaning agents. Chlorine derivatives are used as basic ingredients in washing and disinfecting agents, cleaning, degreasing, bleaching, and descaling formulations. Caustic soda and soda lye, on the other hand, are predominantly used for the manufacture of ionic surfactants, which are the main ingredient of washing powders. Moreover, chlorinated alkalies are used in different industrial branches, including textiles, pharmaceuticals, plant protection products, food, metallurgy, mining, and power generation.

Monochloroacetic Acid

PCC Group is also a supplier of monochloroacetic acid (MCA), a highly reactive raw material used in the production of various chemical compounds. This product is offered in two grades: chloroacetic acid 80% H-P, as a high purity preparation, and chloroacetic acid 80% U-P, with the highest purity available on the market. Most importantly, this compound is an ingredient in the manufacturing of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), which is commonly used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as 2,4-D — one of the most widely available herbicides belonging to the group of growth regulators. Moreover, MCA is utilised as a raw material in production of dyes, polymer additives, cosmetics, and numerous substances for the pharmaceutical industry.

Phosphorus compounds

PCC Group portfolio also includes compounds of acid chlorides, such as phosphorous oxychloride and phosphorus trichloride. These are high purity intermediate products used in the manufacture of phosphorus and chlorine containing chemicals. The compounds are employed as substrates in the synthesis of active compounds of drugs and plant protection products. Phosphorus trichloride and phosphorous oxychloride are also used in the manufacturing of a wide variety of plastic additives, including flame retardants, plasticizers, and antioxidants.

Polyether polyols

The chemical raw materials produced by the PCC Group also include polyether polyols (polyetherols). Polyols possess the structure of a long polymer chain, ending with at least two OH groups. Polyether polyols are alkoxylated glycols, or in other words polyhydric alcohols. Thanks to their special structure, they can be divided into sugar polyols, sorbitol polyols, amine polyols and aromatic polyols.

Polyetherols occur in liquid form which is insoluble in water. But they are highly soluble in different organic solvents. As a result of a reaction between polyether polyols with isocyanates, polyurethane materials with varied characteristics can be created, depending on the polyol type.

The PCC Group portfolio of chemical raw materials includes Rokopol® polyether polyols. Their main application is the production of polyurethanes.

Specialist semi-finished products for the industry

The product portfolio further includes components to be used in preparations with highly specialised applications. This group of chemical raw materials includes alkoxylated nonylphenols, alkoxylated fatty amines, acrylic acid derivatives and other mixtures.

ROKsapian N and ROKsapian N2 are some of the more interesting products. They are specially developed surfactant compositions. This mixture comprises the perfect raw material for candles that aerate formation waters in gas wells. ROKsapian is characterised by a very high ignition temperature (>200oC), meaning that it can be safely used in underground mining workings.

Another interesting substance is oleic acid adduct. This versatile chemical raw material is a product of the additional reaction of oleic acid and maleic anhydride, with rearrangement of acid double bonds. This product is an excellent component of emulsions dedicated to electroplating, it can be a substrate for synthesis of corrosion inhibitors, production of anionic surfactants, and it is used in the tanning industry.

This group includes preparations for production of:

  • Drilling fluids in the drilling and mining industry (1KRO Emulsifier),
  • Antistatic products used in the textile industry (Rokafenol PN7K, Rokamin SRK8, Rokamin SRK8P4),
  • Self-shine shoe cleaning and shoe care polishes (Rokryl N4).
