CAS No.:

The oleic acid adduct is the product of the addition and regrouping of double bonds of oleic acid and maleic anhydride. The product is available in a concentrated form with a high active substance content (99%). Due to its hydrophobicity, the product is water insoluble, however, it is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, chloroform and acetone.

The oleic acid adduct is a component of emulsions used in galvanoplasty. The product can also be used in the production of anionic surfactants through the reaction of neutralization of acid groups and the addition of amino or alcoholic compounds.

The product can be used as a substrate for the synthesis of corrosion inhibitors, paper sizing components and lubricants used as cooling fluids in metalworking, which have anti-wear and anti-rust properties. The oleic acid additive is also used in the tanning industry.
