Roflam F5 is a phosphor flame retardant that provides a high fire resistance class of plastics. During the combustion process, the product works in a solid phase, creating on the surface of the material a charred layer inhibiting the spread of the flame. The flame retardant is a halogen-free solution, therefore, no toxic gases such as HCl or HBr are emitted during the gas-phase combustion process.

Roflam F5 exhibits synergistic properties in combination with inorganic flame retardants in the powder form, enhancing the fire resistance effect.

This additive is also one of the components of the intumescent coatings formulations, used on a large scale in public places, i.e. airports, car parks, sports halls. Products of this type are one of the components of passive fire protection (PFP), the essence of which is to extend the time of maintaining the functional properties of structural elements during a fire.

 The product comes in the form of a homogeneous liquid ensuring excellent miscibility and compatibility with liquid raw materials. In comparison to powder flame retardants, the problem of unwanted sedimentation of additives occurring during processing is eliminated.

 Thanks to its unique properties, Roflam F5 finds its application in many industries. As a halogen-free product, it is dedicated to the production of flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams. Materials of this type are used in the furniture industry (mattresses, sofas, armchairs) and automotive (sound insulation, seats), where the priority is the lack of toxic gases during the combustion process. Roflam F5 is also successfully used in construction materials based on epoxy, vinyl ester and unsaturated polyester resins.
