ROKAcet HR40WPF isan ethoxylated castor oil that belongs to the group of non-ionic surfactants and its INCI name is: PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil.The surfactant is based on raw materials of plant origin. The commercial product contains approx. 90% of the active substance, which is a clear and viscous liquid or paste, light yellow in colour. The active substance present in the commercial product ROKAcet HR40W PF meets all the strict quality requirements specified in the most recent edition of the European Pharmacopoeia.
ROKAcet HR40WPF is characterised by very good solubilising, emulsifying and lubricating properties. It is used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical formulations. The product is a compound which helps to introduce sparingly soluble components, such as fragrance ingredients or active substances, into aqueous solutions.
ROKAcet HR40WPF is widely used as an ingredient in cosmetic products, where it acts, for example, as an O/W emulsifier, which means that it is an ingredient enabling the formation of emulsions. It may also act as a degreasing or cleaning agent.
In pharmaceutical formulations, ROKAcet HR40WPF is usually used in oral preparations. It is perfect as a solubiliser in aqueous and hydroalcoholic solutions of fat-soluble vitamins, essential oils and other hydrophobic drugs.
It is a biodegradable surfactant that complies with the biodegradability criteria as set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents and Regulation No. 1223/2009 on cosmetics.
The product is not classified according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 [CLP/GHS].
