Elastomers are resilient, deformable polymeric materials used to provide tightness of finished products.
Elastomers are polymeric materials of natural or synthetic origin, which may be reversibly deformed without damaging their structure. Elastomers are very elastic and stretchy – they have the ability to be extended up to several hundred percent. A characteristic feature of these materials is their ability to return to their original shape and size after stopping mechanical forces acting on them.
Elastomers may perform various functions depending on the user needs and the target application. However, they are mainly used as tyre tubes, seals and washers due to their high resistance to chemical agents and high temperatures.
