POLIkol 600PF belongs to the polyoxyethylene glycol group. This product is characterised by a wide range of application properties, from very good softening, lubricating, solubilising, and wetting properties, to antistatic properties. It is available in the form of a colourless, viscous liquid.
POLIkol 600PF meets the restricted quality parameters defined in latest edition of European Pharmacopoeia, thanks to which it may be classified as a macrogol. Macrogols are a pharmacopoeial name for polyethylene glycols which are used as one of additives for medicines, ointments, dermocosmetics or other pharmaceutical formulations.
Due to their specific properties, macrogols act as solvents and solubilisers for active and auxiliary substances in pharmaceutical formulations. POLIkol 600PF can be used in order improve the rheological properties (an increase in viscosity) of liquid pharmaceutical preparations and ointments.
These products are used as active ingredient solubilising and binding agents, dispersion stabilisers, and as fragrance carriers, resulting in their prolonged release. They are also used as humectants responsible for binding the water to keep an moisture of final formulation and thereby ensuring even better distribution of the components in them.
