EKOPRODUR PIR2037B3 is a polyurethane system designed to produce rigid foam of closed-cell structure, which has increased thermal resistance even at a relatively long period of operation. For this reason, the product is most commonly used for manufacturing thermal insulation materials such as claddings.
EKOPRODUR PIR2037B3 system consists of two components: component A which is a formulated polyol mixture, in a form of oily liquid having a dark colour (brown). The second component (component B), which is a dense mixture of aromatic polyisocyanates. Component B is also a liquid of a brown colour with a higher density and lower viscosity. Both components of the system do not contain suspensions.
In terms of processing the product is quite versatile, as it can be processed with both low- and high-pressure foaming machines. A characteristic feature of this system is the density of the foam in the finished product, which should be not less than 45 kg/mm3. Insulation materials based on EKOPRODUR PIR2037B3 system maintain good stability of the parameters, even at continuous time of operation at temperatures up to 140°C and a periodically up to 150°C.
An important advantage of EKOPRODUR PIR2037B3 is the fact that it does not contain foaming agents which significantly deplete the ozone layer. This is in accordance with European Union rules on trading and use of controlled substances according to Regulation (EC) No. 1005/2009 of 16 September 2009. In addition, the product has a Hygienic Certificate issued by the National Institute of Hygiene (PZH), which confirms that the product used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions does not adversely affect health and the environment.
Main application advantages of the product:
Option of direct casting in moulds;
Possibility of obtaining a material with uniformly distributed density due to good flow, which provides accurate filling of the element mould;
Possibility of producing an insulating material with high thermal stability that can withstand a temperature of 150°C during periodic operation;
Production of a material based on a rigid polyurethane foam with a wide range of applications;
Mechanical properties of the foam:
apparent density of the core: ≥ 42 kg/m3
Classification of reaction to fire: F
Thermal conductivity coefficient:
λ90,90 : 0.023 W/(m·K)
Compressive stress at 10% deformation: σ10 ≥ 220 kPa
Temperature stability:
70°C, 90% RH, after 48 h: L ≤ 1%, W ≤ 1%, D ≤ 0.5%
140°C, after 48 h: L ≤ 2%, W ≤ 2%, D ≤ 1%
-30°C, after 48 h: L ≤ 0.5%, W ≤ 0.5%, D ≤ 0.2%
Closed cell content: ≥ 90%
Demould time of foamed EKOPRODUR PIR2037B3 system depends on the moulder (element) size and mould temperature. Full mechanical properties of the foam are obtained after 24-hour conditioning. It should be noted that the claddings of aluminium or stainless steel may require a mechanically or chemically prepared substrate to improve adhesion.
