Rokelan OPD is an auxiliary agent in the textile industry. It has the form of a clear or slightly turbid liquid, straw to brown in colour. Rokelan OPD is used as a carrier in the dyeing process of hydrophobic and polyester fibres, both pure and mixed.
The product provides vivid colours regardless of the dye colour and its intensity, up to completely dark ones, without changing their shade. Colours obtained using Rokelan OPD show high resistance to light and other factors related to the use of the material. In addition, the use of this product guarantees good dye performance.
This product is miscible with water in any ratio, forming a highly dispersed, stable emulsion, resistant to high temperatures even in the case of prolonged heating. The ability to form an emulsion in water means that this preparation does not require initial preparation and can be added directly to the dye bath. Rokelan OPD is used as a carrier of suspension dyes for polyester fibres in the form of loose, yarn or textile products. Thanks to the use of the product, positive results are achieved when dyeing blends of, for example, polyester and wool in one bath with dyes designed for polyester and wool.
In the process of dyeing, when using Rokelan OPD, it is important that the raw material is constantly immersed in a dyebath. The use of this product in jigger dyeing machines is possible only when they are ventilated so that there is no possibility of condensation forming on the parts of the apparatus and falling onto the dyed fabric. This results in the formation of hard-to-remove stains. Excellent results are obtained when dyeing fabrics and knits, e.g. in pressure apparatuses.
The dyeing processes, when using Rokelan OPD as a carrier, are carried out in a standard manner, in accordance with the pre-treatment rules (15 minutes in a bath without dye), basic dyeing and final operations (cooling, rinsing and, if necessary, washing).
As a result of longer storage of Rokelan OPD at a reduced temperature, the product may delaminate. A sediment may appear on the bottom of the packaging, while the top layer of the product is clear. In the case of a large amount of sludge, the product should be heated to a temperature of 22-30 ° C and slightly stirred to restore its characteristic form and properties.
