Active Play AS H 8008.A (Polyurethane adhesive)
Active Play AS H 8008.A (Polyurethane adhesive)

Active Play AS H 8008.A is a single-component, MDI-based polyurethane adhesive designed for the permanent bonding of SBR and EPDM rubber granules. The product is ideal for the installation of sports, recreational, and safety surfaces, including surfaces for playgrounds, gyms, and fitness centers.

At 25°C, the adhesive is a colorless to amber-colored liquid. It has an NCO content of 9.0–10.0% and a dynamic viscosity of 2500–4000 mPas. It contains no volatile organic solvents and produces a bond with good stiffness while maintaining its flexibility.

Properties and applications

Properties:

  • a single-component polyurethane prepolymer adhesive,
  • based on a prepolymer derived from diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI),
  • enables the permanent bonding of SBR and EPDM rubber granules,
  • produces a bond with good stiffness while maintaining the flexibility of the surface,
  • provides adequate adhesion to rubber granules,
  • contributes to the stability and integrity of the finished rubber layer,
  • helps create a shock-absorbing layer resistant to service loads,
  • reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) thanks to its VOC-free formula,
  • allows consumption to be adjusted to the type and size of the granules within a range of 5–20%,
  • allows for adjustment of curing time by selecting application conditions, temperature, and humidity,
  • requires application on a dry substrate, which ensures proper curing and the surface’s performance properties,
  • may cause light-colored EPDM granules to change color when exposed to UV radiation.

Applications:

  • playground surfaces,
  • sports surfaces,
  • recreational surfaces,
  • fitness center surfaces,
  • gym surfaces,
  • flexible surfaces made of SBR and EPDM rubber granules,
  • shock-absorbing layers,
  • safety surfaces,
  • sports and recreational facilities,
  • this product is intended for professional use.
