Chemal Alkoxylated alcoholss are generally low foam surfactants which provide wetting, detergency, and defoaming properties. They are used in rinse aids and mechanical dishwashing detergents, spray metal cleaning, formulations, and other detergent products where low foaming properties are required. Chemal LF-35B is primarily recommended for evaluation in defoaming, wetting and detergent applications.
Chemal LFE-35B is a nonionic surfactant belonging to the group of alkoxylated fatty alcohols. The product is based on a short carbon chain alcohol and has a chemical description of “alcohols, C6-10, ethoxylated, propoxylated”. Chemal LFE-35B may be used in mechanical dish wash formulations and any spray cleaning applications for metal and hard surface substrates. The product may be also used in textile and cleaning applications wherever there is a need for the formulation of low to non-foaming products.
Chemal LFE-35B is a clear to slightly hazy liquid with a maximum color of 2 Gardner at 25°C. The product is sold in 100% active form which may become hazy when cooled. Low heat and mild agitation will easily restore the material to clarity if this occurs. Chemal LFE-35B forms a clear solution in water at ambient temperature. As the chemistry will cloud out at temperatures above ~38°C, it provides low foaming and defoaming properties to aqueous cleaning and wetting solutions to cleaning systems at elevated temperatures.
This product is characterized by an HLB value of 14.5 and may be mixed with other nonionic, cationic, or anionic agents. Chemal LFE-35B exhibits a surface tension of 31.9 d/cm @ 25°C and a Draves wetting speed of 43.9 seconds @ 25°C.
