One-component foams are excellent sealants and insulators for buildings, as they effectively reduce heat loss.

 

With their properties, they eliminate thermal bridges, ensuring high thermal performance. They are characterised by a low thermal conduction coefficient (ʎ ≤ 0.034 (W/m*K) and low water absorption (≤ 0.35 kg/m2). In addition, they provide good air quality and protect against dust and insects. One-component foams are convenient in use – the substances enclosed in metal cans with an applicator create a fast stiffening foam immediately after applying. The product is commonly used due to its availability and easy application.

OCFs are often used for door and window installation. They serve as fillers and sealants of gaps which remain after installing a door or window. Besides, they are used for insulating the components of water, waste water, and central heating systems, filling gaps and empty spaces, and replenishing damaged thermal insulation. These foams are also applied for filling cable ducts and culverts, and for sealing roof or wall joints and flat roofs. Thanks to very good sound insulation properties, one-component foams are also used to seal and dampen partition walls. OCFs are also available as foamed adhesives for roof works, installation of styrofoam slabs, and bricklaying (as a replacement for mineral mortars).
