Rokanate M PE 0660 is a prepolymer based on low-functionality MDI isocyanate. The product is a polyurethane adhesive in the form of a clear liquid with a viscosity of 800–1,800 mPas at 25°C and an NCO content of 7.5–8.5% (m/m).

Rokanate M PE 0660 is used as Component B in two-component formulations for solid, flexible polyurethane products with very low hardness (in the Shore 00 and Shore A ranges). In particular, Rokanate M PE 0660 is used to produce hydrophobic gels, highly elastic coatings, and joints with low water absorption that exhibit dimensional stability under conditions of high humidity. Depending on the polyol component (A) used, the product enables the production of polyurethane components characterized by significant softness and very high elasticity (ultra-soft gels). Examples of applications include the protection of electronic assemblies, flexible coatings, gel cushions, seat and backrest components, as well as other accessories that enhance user comfort, such as shock-absorbing insoles for athletic shoes.

When using Rokanate M PE 0820, check and control the humidity and ambient temperature, as well as the water content in other components, in particular the polyol component (A). If the water content in other raw materials exceeds 0.1% or the ambient humidity is high, the molded product will not meet the expected mechanical properties due to an undesirable reaction with water. In addition, the molding time depends, among other things, on the molding temperature and the use of an additional dedicated catalyst for the production of polyurethane elastomers. For this reason, the selection of processing conditions should always be checked in advance on a laboratory scale.

Properties and applications

Product Properties:

isocyanate component (Component B) – a raw material for the production of low-hardness polyurethane elastomers and gels,
water resistance – imparts hydrophobic properties to products and ensures dimensional stability under high-humidity conditions, effectively limiting water absorption in the finished polyurethane product,
standard viscosity – allows for easy and even application of the adhesive onto the surface,
Compatibility – the product is fully miscible with various polyol components and additives used in the production of polyurethane components,
provides self-healing properties in the polyurethane gel layer formed on its basis,
mechanical properties of the finished product – ensures exceptional elasticity and stable mechanical properties (even when exposed to an aqueous environment) as well as excellent adhesion of the resulting coating to various substrates, such as polyurethane foams or plastics,
contains no organic solvents or plasticizers.

Product applications:

a raw material for the production of polyurethane elastomers and gels, exhibiting enhanced resistance to high humidity due to its ability to impart hydrophobic properties to finished products.
Comfort-enhancing components—cushions, gel backrests, pads, shock-absorbing elements (including those for athletic shoes).
Construction applications - coatings and seals that protect against moisture,
