Active Play AS H 8008 (W) - one-component adhesive dedicated to the production of cold- and hot-molded elements from rubber granulates: EPDM and SBR
Active Play AS H 8008 (W) is a high-quality polyether prepolymer based on MDI isocyanate with low functionality (2.0–2.2), designed for demanding industrial applications. This one-component polyurethane adhesive is available as a clear liquid, ranging in color from colorless to light yellow, reflecting its exceptional purity and consistency.
The product features a viscosity of 2000–4000 mPas at 25°C and an NCO content of 9.0–10.0%, ensuring excellent adhesion, flexibility, and bond durability.
Active Play AS H 8008 (W) has been developed specifically for the production of cold- and hot-molded components made from EPDM and SBR rubber granulates, including those obtained through recycling processes.
Thanks to its optimized formula, it provides strong, elastic, and long-lasting bonds, ideal for manufacturing durable, safe, and resilient rubber surfaces and molded elements.
Active Play AS H 8008 (W) — a reliable polyurethane adhesive for the recycling and rubber processing industries
Active Play AS H 8008 (W) is a modern polyurethane prepolymer designed for bonding recycled materials, among other things. It works perfectly as an adhesive for bonding black SBR granules, obtained, for example, from ground and processed car tires. Thanks to its versatility, it can also be used to bond other shredded materials, such as flexible polyurethane foams, EVA, cork, and gravel.
SBR granules, obtained through tire recycling, are a durable material that is resistant to abrasion and weather conditions, yet flexible, safe, and non-water-absorbent. They provide excellent sound and vibration damping, making them an ideal raw material for the production of safety mats, paving tiles, road components, and sound- and vibration-insulating mats.
Efficiency and Ease of Application
Before use, the pigmented prepolymer Active Play AS H 8008 (W) must be mixed; then, the SBR rubber granules should be moistened with it and formed into the desired shape. Under pressure and temperature, curing occurs due to heat and moisture, ensuring a durable and flexible bond. The final properties of the molded part depend on the granule size, the adhesive ratio, and the degree of compression. The curing process takes place at temperatures ranging from 70°C to 150°C, and by appropriately selecting the temperature and humidity, the polymerization time can be significantly reduced.
Durability and safety
The combination of the prepolymer with SBR granules creates a joint with high stiffness while maintaining flexibility, ensuring excellent mechanical properties of the finished components. The product does not contain volatile organic solvents and has not been classified as posing a risk to the environment according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, as amended.
Active Play AS H 8008 (W) is widely used in:
the production of surface panels and mats for playgrounds, fitness centers, gyms, and sports facilities,
the manufacture of road and infrastructure components,
projects utilizing SBR and EPDM rubber granules.
Winter Version – Greater Production Flexibility
This product is the winter version of Active Play 8008 adhesive. Thanks to its higher reactivity, it achieves the same bonding effectiveness and durability as the classic Active Play AS H, but at lower temperatures, ensuring greater process flexibility and productivity in colder conditions.
