They are used primarily as so-called extreme-pressure additives. Under high pressure and/or temperature, when the distance between the metal parts drastically decreases, phosphate esters form a strong protective barrier, moisturising the surface. So that, they effectively protect it against increased friction, and thus against wear and tear and deterioration of the quality of the machining process. Phosphate esters are also used as oil emulsifiers, hydrotrophic substances, corrosion inhibitors or wetting agents.

The products from the CHEMfac series are mainly acidic phosphate esters, which are used as additives in oils operating under increased load conditions (e.g. in hydraulic fluids) and in water-based machining fluids, i.e. in the cutting, grinding and pressing of metals.

In addition to their use in lubricating formulations, the CHEMfac series of phosphate esters are also used in preparations with cleaning properties or in the textile industry. After appropriate neutralization, some of the CHEMfac products can also play corrosion inhibitors role on structural materials, such as steel, aluminium and copper.

Products from the EXOfos series are anionic surfactants from the group of phosphate esters. Their excellent surface properties make the EXOfos series products possible to be used in many industries, including cosmetics, detergents and professional cleaners, metalworking and metal cleaning or architectural finishes. Due to their high tolerance to alkalis, phosphate esters are particularly suitable for alkaline cleaners for heavy soiling. Products from the EXOfos series also have hydrotrophic properties, which help to formulate agents with high concentrations of active substances. Phosphate esters are excellent as lubricating additives due to their very good high-pressure and anti-wear properties. They are also very effective emulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors as well as surface wetting agents.

The product catalogue also includes ROKAdis 900, which is an anionic surfactant based on phosphate esters. The product has very good dispersing and wetting properties, especially against inorganic pigments. It is applicable to the production of decorative paints for interiors and exteriors, anticorrosive paints, as well as water-based pigment concentrates for universal use.
