Active Play AS H 8008 - one-component adhesive dedicated to the production of cold- and hot-molded elements from rubber granulates: EPDM and SBR
Active Play AS H 8008 is a high-quality polyether prepolymer based on MDI isocyanate with low functionality (2.0–2.2), designed for demanding industrial applications. This one-component polyurethane adhesive is available as a clear liquid with a color ranging from colorless to light yellow. The product is characterized by a viscosity at 25°C in the range of 2500–4000 mPas and an NCO content of 9.0-10.0%.
Active Play AS H 8008 has been developed specifically for the production of cold- and hot-molded elements from EPDM and SBR rubber granulates, including materials derived from recycling processes. Thanks to its properties, it provides a reliable solution for creating flexible, durable, and safe rubber surfaces and components.
This product combines technological precision with an environmentally responsible approach, meeting the needs of modern industry and the circular economy.
Active Play AS H 8008 – Reliable Polyurethane Adhesive for the Rubber Recycling and Processing Industry
Active Play AS H 8008 is a modern polyurethane prepolymer designed specifically for applications in recycling processes. It performs excellently as an adhesive for bonding black SBR granulate, obtained, among others, from ground and processed automotive tires. Thanks to its versatility, it can also be used for bonding other fragmented materials such as flexible polyurethane foams, EVA, cork, or gravel.
The SBR granulate obtained from tire recycling is a durable, abrasion- and weather-resistant material that remains elastic, safe, and water-repellent. It provides excellent sound and vibration damping properties, making it an ideal raw material for the production of safety mats, surface tiles, road elements, as well as acoustic and vibration isolation mats.
Efficiency and Easy Application
Before use, the pigmented prepolymer Active Play AS H 8008 should be thoroughly mixed and then used to moisten the SBR rubber granulate, which is subsequently molded into the desired shape. Under pressure, heat, and humidity, the adhesive cures to form a strong, durable, and elastic bond.
The properties of the molded element (e.g., a tile or plate) depend on the size and composition of the rubber granulate, as well as on the amount of one-component polyurethane adhesive used. In the case of molded products, the degree of compression during curing is also important. The curing process takes place at temperatures between 70°C and 150°C, and through proper adjustment of temperature and humidity, the polymerization time can be significantly reduced.
Durability and Safety
The combination of the prepolymer with SBR granulate creates a rigid yet flexible joint, ensuring excellent mechanical performance of the finished elements. The product contains no volatile organic solvents, making it an environmentally friendly and safe solution.
