Rostabil TDP-V is a high-end process stabiliser, distinguished by its mild, non-irritating odour. It belongs to a new generation of phenol-free compounds and is part of a series of stabilisers offered under the ‘Rostabil’ brand name. The series also includes the basic version of the product – Rostabil TDP.
Rostabil TDP-V is produced using modern manufacturing technologies and is a response to growing market demands for reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in finished products.
As a thermal stabiliser, it effectively protects polymers from degradation during processing, eliminating undesirable yellowing of plastics caused by high temperatures. Rostabil TDP-V has been developed for the processing of poly(vinyl chloride), especially in indoor applications.
It is ideal for one-pack compounds, where it exhibits a synergistic effect when combined with phenolic, amine or calcium, zinc or barium stearate stabilisers. Its phenol-free nature significantly reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in finished products, thus facilitating compliance with the most rigorous emission standards.
The product comes in the form of a homogeneous, colourless liquid, which is particularly important in the production of transparent, unpigmented plastics. In the case of coloured materials, Rostabil TDP-V additionally enhances colour stability, ensuring high quality of the final products.
Properties and applications
Product application advantages:
Phenol-free nature – enables compliance with stringent emission standards (VOC)
Protection against yellowing – eliminates undesirable colour changes during processing
Colour stability – enhances colour fastness in pigmented polymer materials
Transparency – ensures high clarity in non-pigmented plastics
Resistance to degradation – protects polymers during thermal processing
Compatibility – interacts with phenolic and amine stabilisers as well as calcium, zinc and barium stearates
Synergy in mixed metal compounds – ideal ingredient in PVC processing
Non-staining properties – no discolouration on the surface of products
Mechanical neutrality – does not adversely affect the physical properties of the material
Areas of application
Construction – roofing and roof membranes, window frames, PVC pipes, technical films
Fibre and textiles – coated fabrics, artificial leather, projection screens
