ROKAnol® GA6 is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols. The product is part of a group of surfactants based on Guerbet C10 alcohol. It is a cloudy liquid with an active substance content of approximately 100%. At 40°C, it takes on a light colour, i.e. max. 50 on the Hazen scale, and solidifies at approximately 2°C.

ROKAnol® GA6 forms cloudy solutions in water, but is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol or acetone. The cloud point of this product is 61–64°C in a BDG solution (16.7%). ROKAnol® GA6 shows moderate resistance to both acids and alkalis. It can be mixed with other non-ionic, anionic and cationic surfactants.

ROKAnol® GA6 has low foaming properties for an ethoxylated product, which means it can be used in formulations where excessive foaming is undesirable. Furthermore, ROKAnol® GA6 has excellent degreasing, wetting (the lower the degree of ethoxylation of the GA series ROKAnols®, the better the wetting properties) and detergent properties. For this reason, it can be successfully used as an ingredient in cleaning and degreasing formulations. It is the very high degreasing properties of this product that make it suitable for use in the tanning industry, in particular for degreasing leather in the wet process.The product is also used, among other things, in liquid and powder laundry detergents, where its high detergency is utilised. ROKAnol® GA6 can be used in both professional cleaning agents and specialised acidic preparations, as well as in metal cleaning agents.Thanks to its properties, ROKAnol® GA6 is also used in cosmetics and car care products as a detergent or wetting agent, depending on the formulation.ROKAnol® GA6 is ideal as an emulsifier. Its usefulness for individual systems depends on the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB), which correlates directly with the degree of ethoxylation. In addition, like all ROKAnole® GA series products, it has dispersing properties.ROKAnol® GA6 is biodegradable in the natural environment and meets the criteria of the Detergents Directive.
