Alkylsulfates are a group of organic salts of sulfate acid monoesters and aliphatic alcohols.

Alkylsulfates are a group of organic salts of sulfate acid monoesters and aliphatic alcohols. These compounds are anionic surface active agents (surfactants). Depending on their structure, they have specific functions, used as wetting, cleaning or electrostatic agents, emulsifiers, etc. Products containing alkylsulfates are used for example in the plastics, textile, leather, and metallurgic industries.
