POLIkol 4000 PILLS is a product from the polyoxyethylene glycol group (PEG with a mean molecular mass of 4000) with the INCI name: PEG-90. The commercial product is a white to light yellow wax offered in pastille form. The solidification temperature of the product is about 55°C. The product dissolves to an unlimited degree in water, low aliphatic alcohols, ethyl ether and chloroform.

It is a safe, non-toxic product and does not irritate the skin, therefore it is used as a water-soluble ingredient in hard cosmetics, such as lipsticks. POLIkol 4000 PILLS can be used as a moisture retaining agent in cosmetic preparations, such as creams, facial cleansers, scrubs, and makeup removers. It can be added to the formulation to improve its rheological properties (increase viscosity). The product can also be used as an active ingredient carrier and binding agent in dishwashing tablets, laundry tablets and bath salts.

In industrial applications, it is a component of lubricant formulations, mainly water-soluble synthetic machining fluids and heat transfer fluids. The product is used as a release agent in the rubber, plastics, and elastomer processing industry. It is also an auxiliary agent in textile processing.POLIkol 4000 PILLS acts as a plasticizer and binding agent in the production of ceramics and biopolymer-based food packaging. It has positive reviews from international organizations, such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which approved using polyethylene glycol as a non-direct food additive under CFR 21 lists:
