Active Play AS H 8018 is a one-component polyurethane adhesive developed on the basis of an MDI mixture with low functionality (2.0–2.2). The product is a liquid ranging in color from amber to dark amber, with a viscosity at 25°C between 2500–4000 mPas. The NCO content is 12.0–13.5%, ensuring excellent application properties and high quality of the resulting bonds.
Active Play AS H 8018 is a dedicated raw material for the production of molded elements, both cold- and hot-formed, using EPDM and SBR rubber granules, including those obtained from recycling processes. Thanks to its carefully balanced chemical composition, it enables the creation of durable and flexible joints, ideal for use in modern rubber processing technologies.
Active Play AS H 8018 is a polyurethane prepolymer designed for bonding applications in various recycling processes. It performs particularly well in bonding black SBR granules obtained from shredded, used car tires, making it an excellent solution for manufacturers of elastic surfaces and molded rubber components. The product can also be used for bonding other fragmented materials such as flexible polyurethane foams, EVA, cork, and gravel.
SBR granulate is produced by mechanically cutting car tires. It is black in color, highly resistant to abrasion, and extremely durable under atmospheric conditions. In addition, it exhibits excellent acoustic properties, effectively damping noise and vibrations. It is an elastic, safe, and hydrophobic material, making it ideal for producing safety tiles, underlay mats, road accessories, and soundproof mats.
Before use, the pigmented prepolymer Active Play AS H 8018 should be thoroughly mixed. The SBR rubber granulate is then moistened with the adhesive and placed into a mold. Under pressure and the influence of temperature and humidity, the product cures to form a durable and resistant bond.
The properties of the finished element (e.g. plate) depend on the size and type of granulate, the amount of adhesive used, and—in molding processes—the degree of compression during curing. The process occurs at temperatures between 70°C and 150°C, and proper adjustment of temperature and humidity allows for shorter curing and polymerization times.
The combination of the prepolymer with SBR granules creates a bond with high rigidity while maintaining elasticity and durability. The product is free from volatile organic solvents, making it safe and environmentally friendly.
Active Play AS H 8018 was developed for the production of items made from SBR and EPDM rubber granules, particularly for elastic surfaces for playgrounds, fitness areas, gyms, and other molded rubber products.
