EXOwet R3831 is a ready-to-use mixture of non-ionic surfactants, formulated to improve water infiltration into the soil. It works by facilitating the penetration of water into deeper soil layers and retaining it in the upper part of the soil profile, thereby increasing the availability of moisture to plants.

The product is a viscous, clear liquid ranging in colour from white to pale yellow. It has a freezing point of -20 °C and a neutral pH (5% concentration) in the range of 4–7. The active ingredient content is approximately 90%, ensuring high efficacy.

EXOwet R3831 is particularly effective in extremely dry soils, including those affected by fire. In such conditions, the soil is compacted, covered with a surface crust and exhibits hydrophobic properties, which causes water to run off the surface rather than being absorbed. The use of the EXOwet R3831 additive reduces surface tension and increases the soil’s hydrophilicity, allowing water to penetrate more easily.In cases of extreme drought, EXOwet R3831 is more effective than EXOwet R3823 due to its greater hydrophobicity, which allows it to penetrate the soil more easily. However, it should be noted that, compared to the aforementioned EXOwet R3823, the product exhibits lower resistance to hard water.The product not only improves water infiltration into the soil but is also retained in the humus layer. This ensures plants have better access to moisture, particularly during periods of drought, supporting their health and growth. Furthermore, a moist humus layer has an additional benefit – it helps maintain the soil microbiome in good condition. This means that plants are surrounded by many microorganisms with which they live in symbiosis, giving them better access to nutrients and making them less susceptible to the development of pathogens in their vicinity.EXOwet R3831 can also be used in herbicide treatments. By increasing water availability to plants, the product enhances the penetration of water-soluble herbicides, thereby increasing their efficacy.The product’s ingredients are not classified as hazardous substances; the formulation poses no threat to the environment, is fully and slowly biodegradable, and contains no siloxanes.
