Rokanol B2 belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the ethoxylated fatty alcohols group. The product is a high molecular weight polymer based on alcohol of vegetable origin. ROKAnol B2 belongs to a large group of surfactants with low and anti-foaming properties.
It is a turbid liquid with a solidification point of about 0°C and an active substance content of approx. 100%. It is a water-soluble product which forms clear solutions in water up to approximately 30°C. The cloud-point of the product is within the range of 30-39°C (for a 1% aqueous solution).
The product is mainly used as an anti-foaming agent in industrial processes, mainly in professional detergents and in the paper industry. The hydrophobic character of the product causes its migration to the liquid surface. Thanks to its properties, the product reduces the surface tension between the liquid and air, at the same time improving the foam "drainage" and, as a result, reducing the foam.
ROKAnol B2 is not a hazardous substance and complies with the regulations allowing the product to come into direct contact with food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorizes the use of this product as an antifoam for the production of packaging paper.
