DISINFECTANTS AND BIOCIDES

Disinfectants and biocides are agents which destroy microbes and bacteria accumulated on objects and in usable spaces.

Disinfectants and biocides are agents which destroy microbes and bacteria accumulated on objects and in usable spaces. They do not destroy the microbes completely, but only reduce their quantities to a safe level. The main objective of disinfectants is to leave the surfaces safe to health. Through their chemical activity, they destroy all health-hazardous organisms and prevent their growth. Disinfectants and biocides contain active substances capable to neutralise microbes as well as additives for cleaning, moistening and supporting removal of contamination.Biocides and disinfectants are used for water sanitization in food industry and in animal breeding. They also serve to disinfect surfaces used to prepare food. Their principal applications include food industry, water and wastewater treatment, detergent production as well as cleaning of industrial and public facilities.
