What are chemical raw materials?

Chemical raw materials are substances that form the basis for the production of finished products and agents in various industries. They are divided into two main groups: organic raw materials (derived from coal, crude oil or biomass) and inorganic raw materials (obtained from minerals and fossils).

Each offers unique properties that determine their parameters and, consequently, their application. Depending on their form and type, they can be used as solvents, emulsifiers, stabilisers and more.

Parameters and applications – what are they used for?

In practice, it is the right choice of chemical raw materials that determines the quality, durability and overall performance of the final product. Their physicochemical properties (such as solubility, pH, melting point, viscosity and thermal stability) determine how they are used (i.e. how and where). The single name of raw materials actually covers versatility and a wide range of applications, which make these chemicals so important in industry.

Examples? Surfactants work well as cleaning agents and emulsifiers. Acids and bases, on the other hand, are responsible for pH regulation. Alcohols act as solvents or fragrance components. Polymers, on the other hand, are used in the production of plastics, adhesives and protective coatings.

What are they used for and who uses them? Which industries use our raw materials?

Chemical raw materials determine the composition of many products and can serve as foams, cleaning agents, emulsifiers, solvents, bleaching agents, softeners, washing agents, detergents, oils and many, many more. This means that they are used in dozens of different sectors of the economy, including:

  • The cosmetics and household chemicals industry (surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives and fragrances). They are used to make shampoos, creams, dishwashing liquids and detergents.
  • Construction (additives for adhesives, mortars, paints, etc.). They improve their strength, flexibility and resistance to weather conditions, as well as giving them specific performance parameters (e.g. thermal insulation).
  • Agriculture (production of fertilisers, plant protection products and feed additives).
  • Food industry (emulsifiers, stabilisers and acidity regulators).

In addition, our raw materials are used in the paint, paper, textile and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in many other industries requiring specialised chemical solutions.

All available products can be found at the top of the page. Would you like to learn more about the application and properties of a specific product? Just click on it. You can also use our search engine to quickly find the right chemical product.

What types of additives and chemical raw materials do we offer?

As an experienced manufacturer of specialised industrial chemicals, we offer a wide range of chemical raw materials, which can be divided into different product categories. We classify them according to:

  • Functions (cleaning, bleaching, washing, lubricating, dissolving, pH regulating, softening, wetting, biocidal, fungicidal, foaming, cross-linking and many more).
  • Structure (PAG, alkalis, mixtures, chlorides, phenols, chlorides, amines, phosphates, silicates, etc.).
  • Segment (polyurethanes, surfactants, speciality products, intermediates, etc.).

We ensure their production and distribution through seven companies that are part of our PCC Group.
