Rokopol® iFlex S21 is a polyether copolymer polyol based on ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO), produced from glycerine. It comes in the form of a transparent liquid, free from mechanical impurities, with the addition of BHT-free antioxidants. Thanks to its high purity and low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC), the product meets the most stringent quality and environmental requirements.

It has a hydroxyl number in the range of 40–46 mg KOH/g and a dynamic viscosity of 1000–1300 mPas (25°C). Rokopol® iFlex S21 ensures excellent process control and repeatability of production parameters.

The product was developed as part of a research and development project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

Rokopol® iFlex S21 was developed for modern polyurethane foam production technologies—both in continuous (slabstock), periodic (batch), and molded (molding) systems. It is perfect as a cell opener in the production of Hyper Soft, Soft, HR (High Resilience), visco, and standard foams.With appropriately selected additives (catalysts, silicones, foaming agents), it allows for the production of highly elastic foams with a block height of up to 130 cm, while maintaining ideal structure and mechanical parameters.Key advantages of Rokopol® iFlex S21 polyol application:

Properties and applications

Properties of foams using Rokopol® iFlex S21 polyol:

possibility of producing foams with a density in the range of 20-60 kg/m³ and a hardness in the range of 1.0-2.5 kPa,
the polyol content in the formulation is 65-80 pph,
height of foam blocks obtained: up to 130 cm (25 kg/m³) / 70 cm (55 kg/m³),
elongation at break up to 450%,
provides a very high comfort factor,
no need to use additives in the formulation,
no sticky touch – the result is a smooth and pleasant to the touch foam with a uniform structure,
excellent resistance to permanent deformation – long-lasting elasticity and comfort of use,
low production costs.
