ROSULfan A33 is an anionic surfactant belonging to the group of alkyl sulphates in the form of an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt. It has very good foaming and emulsifying properties. A commercial product contains approximately 33% of the active substance. This product is a viscous, colourless or slightly yellow liquid which is clear at 30°C.

ROSULfan A33 is used as an anionic emulsifying agent in the process of emulsion polymerisation. The use of the product in the process enables effective control of the particle size of the resulting polymer. It also ensures a sufficiently low content of coagulate.

After the completion of synthesis process, ROSULfan A33 provides adequate dispersion stability, while preventing undesirable coagulation processes. The product can be used in the industrial synthesis process for dispersion of acrylic copolymers, styrene-acrylic copolymers, vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers.In order to increase the effectiveness of ROSULfan A33, it is recommended to use it in combination with appropriate non-ionic emulsifiers, such as ROKAnol L30/65, ROKAnol IT40/70, ROKAnol UD40/70 or ROKAnol TSP25/80. The recommended application rate is 0.5-3.0% of the active substance based on the weight of the monomer.This product is not subject to ADR regulations. The surfactant complies with the biodegradability criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.

Application

For production of water-based acrylic dispersions, styrene-acrylic dispersions, vinyl acetate homopolymers and copolymers.
