Roflam B7V is a halogen-free phosphor flame retardant in the form of a colourless liquid. Due to its low dynamic viscosity and very good compatibility with many raw materials, it is successfully used, among others in highly filled polyurethane plastics, epoxy resins, vinyl ester resins and unsaturated polyester resins. In comparison to other flame retardants belonging to the group of aryl phosphoric esters, it is characterized by a lack of classification for the threat to human health, as well as a low content of volatile organic compounds, including free phenol.

Properties and applications

Advantages of Roflam B7V:

  • effective flame retardant effect
  • acid source in intumescent coatings
  • no release of toxic chemicals during combustion
  • low emission of volatile organic compounds
  • synergy effect with mineral powder flame retardants (e.g. melamine, ammonium polyphosphate)
  • good compatibility with liquid raw materials
  • possibility to apply in formulations containing amine catalysts
  • viscosity reduction of highly filled systems

Benefits of using Roflam B7V:

  • obtaining materials that meet the requirements for flammability in the, construction, automotive and furniture industries
  • obtaining materials that meet the requirements for low emissions of volatile organic compounds
  • obtaining flame retardant effect while maintaining good physical and mechanical parameters of finished materials
  • extending the time of maintaining the functional properties of structural elements during a fire
  • increasing component homogeneity and material processing capabilities

Applications:

  • construction industry - elements of interior finishing, sound insulation
  • furniture industry - mattresses, sofas, armchairs, pillows, upholstered furniture
  • automotive industry - sound insulation, car seats
  • C.A.S.E. (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers)
