Hydraulic fluids are liquids that transfer energy in all hydraulic systems. Their main functions are: heat transfer, removal of contaminants (including air), sealing and lubrication of the system.

Heating up of the hydraulic machines and excess heat generated during their operation can be dangerous, especially when it is impossible to dispose it outside the system. As a result, internal components and machine seals can be damaged, causing the system to leak. Therefore, it is important to use hydraulic fluids of good parameters that can quickly reduce the temperature of the machine.

Hydraulic fluids are usually refined or synthetic oils, less often water-based fluids. This medium is used in many industries, mainly where hydraulic machines are used.

Hydraulic fluid works in a closed circuit, and its circulation ensures high efficiency of the device. The oil transfers the heat to the tank, then flows through the cooler, which receives the energy and controls the temperature of the medium. After cooling, the oil is pumped back into the system, where the whole process is repeated. Functional fluid carrying various types of contaminants from the system, later transports them to filters or conditioning devices, where they are caught. The purified recycled oil also plays an important role in the sealing of pump, valve or engine components. In addition, it protects hydraulic components by lubrication, which reduces friction between the two metal components and prevents wear and tear.
