Although dishwashers have dominated modern dishwashing, delicate porcelain and glassware still require hand washing. Detergents play a key role in this process, with their effectiveness based primarily on the high-quality surfactants used in their production.
The role of a dishwasher is to remove the most difficult stains during daily kitchen cleaning, but not every item is suitable for washing in a dishwasher. In the case of delicate porcelain, wooden items or glasses, it is worth taking the traditional route and washing them by hand. Careful mechanical movements, the use of warm water and the right detergent will work well here.
The choice always depends on the desired result. Concentrated dishwashing liquids are the most popular option. They effectively remove grease and dirt. Some of them are formulated without the addition of fragrances, which is particularly important for people who are sensitive to smells or have allergies. There are also formulations on the market with antibacterial properties or based exclusively on biodegradable raw materials.
The basic ingredients of hand dishwashing liquids are surfactants, enzymes, fragrances and dyes. Each of them plays a specific role in the entire washing process and contributes to the effectiveness of the product.
The most important functions are:
Surfactants, acting at the water/dirt interface, are highly effective in cleaning dish surfaces. They effectively reduce surface tension, allowing the detergent to penetrate and remove dirt. Anionic surfactants, valued for their excellent cleaning and foaming properties, play a key role in this process. Non-ionic surfactants are also suitable as raw materials for the production of hand dishwashing liquids.
The cleaning agents offered by the PCC Group are primarily products from the ROKAnol series. Raw materials such as ROKAnol DB5 and ROKAnol DB7 are characterised by distinct surface activity, good wetting properties and the ability to generate stable foams. The ROKAmin series (e.g. ROKAmina K40 MB), with its high detergency, is also well suited.
Foam is very important in the context of hand dishwashing. It remains on the cleaned surface much longer than water. Thanks to this, surfactants can remove dirt more effectively, and the foam bubbles themselves trap dirt particles inside. Rinsing the foam with water allows for their final removal.
In the production of hand dishwashing liquids, products from the ROSULfan or SULFOROKAnol series are particularly suitable as foaming agents. They are characterised by their ability to produce dense and stable foam, which allows for fine and evenly distributed air bubbles. They also show increased resistance to hard water.
In the production of dishwashing liquids, ingredients that increase the wettability of the finished formulations play an important role. They reduce surface tension and thus effectively increase the surface area of contact between the liquid and the surface being cleaned. This allows the liquid to reach the smallest crevices and penetrate deep under the layer of dirt, which radically intensifies the cleaning process.
The wetting agents offered by the PCC Group are primarily the ROKAnol and ROKAmid series. Thanks to their very good wetting, detergent and dispersing properties, they are successfully used in most detergents for hand washing dishes. The portfolio also includes products from the ROSULfan and SULFOROKAnol series, which, in addition to very good wetting properties, also offer high foaming properties (in this group, the low-foaming compound is ROSULfan E).
The increased ability of the cleaning fluid to remove stubborn grease and oil may be particularly attractive to consumers who often cook with heavy oils or need an effective dishwashing detergent.
ROKAnols, e.g. ROKAnol DB7, are highly effective at removing grease. They are characterised by excellent degreasing and detergent properties, effectively removing dirt.
The PCC Group’s portfolio includes a wide range of chemical raw materials for the production of hand dishwashing liquids. The extensive product catalogue includes ready-made liquids as well as surfactants used in the production of cleaning formulations.
In the production of hand dishwashing detergents, great emphasis is placed on the use of environmentally friendly raw materials. The PCC Group is committed to environmentally friendly solutions and has created the Greenline product line with environmental protection in mind.
In addition, selected raw materials in the range have the prestigious international ECOCERT label, which is the most important and recognised certificate of quality and environmental safety in Europe.
