Rokopol® RF551 is a general purpose polyether sorbitol polyol used for production of polyurethane (PUR) rigid and semi-rigid foam production in reaction with isocyanate. It mixes well with water. It exists in form of a clear, colourless to yellow liquid. It contains antioxidants (excluding BHT). It retains low viscosity (ca. 3000-5000 mPas) at relatively high functionality of f~4.5 and high hydroxyl value of 400-440 mgKOH/g.

Unique structure of Rokopol RF551 and physical and chemical parameters required in the PUR systems determine its application in a wide range of polyurethane application of rigid foam. Rokopol RF551 is used in combination with other polyols and additives in order to modify properties of the PUR system, in particular: viscosity, reactiveness, gelation, degree of cross-linking, and final properties of rigid foam such as adhesion to various surfaces, flame-retarding properties, hardness, abrasion, content of closed cells (insulation). Main advantages of application of Rokopol® RF551:

ensures long gelation times of the PUR foam,

influences very good mechanical properties of the foams,

combines easily with other polyols in order to modify the PUR system,
