ROKAnol® IT20 is a non-ionic surfactant with a wide application range. The product belongs to the non-ionic surfactants from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI: Isotrideceth-20). It belongs to the ROKAnol IT series, which form a large group of surface active products based on isotridecyl alcohol, iso-C13. ROKAnol® IT20 contains approximately 100% of the active substance. The product appears as a white to light yellow solid at room temperature.

The product exhibits the best efficiency in combination with anionic surfactants, especially with sulphate products, such as ROSULfan L15, ABSNa 25 or SULFOROKAnol L430/1, and phosphate ester emulsifiers – ROKAdis 900K/25 and 600K/25. It can also be used as an additive to a polymer dispersion, dosed after the synthesis stage. Due to the high degree of ethoxylation, the product increases the dispersion's resistance to electrolytes and solvents environment, and has a positive effect on improving the mechanical and resistance properties of the polymer coating. ROKAnol® IT20 is particularly recommended as an alternative to ethoxylated nonylphenols.

ROKAnol® IT20 is also used in other industries. The product can be used as a wetting and dispersing agent for organic pigments both in the process of their synthesis and at the stage of creating the pigment concentrate. Due to its detergent properties and resistance to acidic environment and diluted alkaline solutions, it can be a component of cleaning formulations. An additional advantage of the product is its high activity in the presence of oxidizing and reducing agents, as well as hard water.

The product is approved for use as an indirect food additive on the basis of the lists published by the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the German organization BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung).

The main application of ROKAnol® IT20 is the emulsion polymerization process, in which it is used as an emulsifier and dispersion stabilizer.
